Device i/o error Just recent issue

vbimport

#1

I keep gettin errors about i/o device.
I can’t copy dvds:iomagic dual 4x +/- dvdrw internal
i flashed my processor, updated firmaware, and checked aspi.
As for the aspi, nero says it’s aspi is good and so is system’s.
However, when i use the aspi checker tool.it doesn’t say anything.
i am able to read the dvd info to the HDD but when i goto put the blank disc in…i get this>>

Hey Kummer…

If you notice at the very bottom your running ASPI 4.71. Get rid of it and go to 4.60. You can do this here. http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/drivers/20/20300.htm

What kinf of drive do you have? What kind of media are you using? Once you get 4.6 in your ASPI checker should detect it. If that doesn’t do it try a different known quality media.

i was reading further on the link u provided(thanks for the reply)
>>>but that version of aspi states for windows 2000
i’m using some dvds u can get from computer shows ($15 for 50 discs) but no name
i have an iomagic from 2003 dvd1004 duak format burner
i have had success before but i used registere cleaner a month ago and all hail broke loose. i have since reformatted my HDD in hopes problem would be resoved. Turned of anit spyware and anitvirus also during attempt

#4

I know it says for 2000 but it was given to me by I believe codeKing and it worked great on 2 of my puters. I’ve given it to at least 30 people whom have all used it with XP and have not had any trbl. But if your to paronoid you can use the KProbe one but it’s kind of a pain compaired to the first one. And you must do it EXACTLY as it states.
1/ Download this file: http://clonecd.gearhost.net/clonecd/forceASPI17.zip
2/ Unzip it onto you Hard drive in a folder call ForceASPI
3/ Open the folder ForceASPI
4/ Run KILLASPI.BAT
5/ Reboot
6/ Open the folder ForceASPI
7/ Run INSTASPI.BAT
8/ Reboot

Hope this helps…
I tried this one 4 times before I got it to work right on my first puter. Then said screw that one and used the first one I gave you on my 2nd puter and worked the first time trbl. free. I then had to do a complete system restore on my first puter and used the first one on it with the same results. But take your pick. As far as your media, all I can say is :Z Buy crap media, expect crap burns. You can go to www.dvdinfopro.com and DL a disk identifier for free that will give you the exact MID codes of all media. I highly recomend it. Good luck.

i ran the check again and it stated older version installed…well attempoting to burn now
