Developers of speed optimized Firefox clone Pale Moon release version 25.2

The developers of Pale Moon have released version 25.2. Pale Moon is based on the source code of Mozilla Firefox but is optimized for modern hardware. The Windows version of Mozilla Firefox is developed for a large array of hardware, therefore Mozilla has to make concessions to support older hardware. This makes Firefox slower than it could be, according to Pale Moon developer Moonchild Productions.

Pale Moon therefore doesn't run on systems with old processors (approximately up to 10 years old). The browser also misses some features compared to Firefox such as "Accessibility Features" and "Parental Controls". The result is a browser that should perform up to 25% better than Firefox. While Mozilla has not released an official 64-bit version of Firefox, Pale Moon is also available in 64-bit.

The browser uses its own profile folder and doesn't share it with Firefox which makes it possible to use both browsers on a single system.

The developers call version 25.2 an important which mainly fixes bugs and security issues. Pale Moon is available in both an installer and portable executable for Windows, Linux and there's a  mobile version for Android.
