Desperate - 48125W does not write on Media

vbimport

#1

HI,

I have got a new Lite-on 48125W CD-RW. I have upgrade with VS0D firmware.
I have been trying for 1 month to burn CD and have wasted over 20 CDs and yet no solution. I am getting the problem listed below with Nero

I have tried this on a different PC with XP and i get the same results

I am becoming desperate enough to throw the Burner out…
Any help will be welcome.

For starters, you’re running your optical drives in PIO mode instead of DMA. It has to be in DMA mode.

I have now enabled the DMA and Still get the same results

Try different media.

#5

I am burning the Media only 16X
I have tried the below media that is available in India

=========
Manufacturer : Plasmon
Code : 97m27s18f
Recording Layer : Dye Type 8: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)

==================
Manufacturer : Moser Baer
Code : 97m17s06f
Recording Layer : Dye Type 6: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)

==========================
Manufacturer : Sony
Code : 97m24s16f
Recording Layer : Dye Type 6: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)

Manufacturer : Verbatim
Code : 97m34s23f
Recording Layer : Dye Type 3: Long Strategy (Cyanine, AZO)

Manufacturer : Ritek
Code : 97m31s07f
Recording Layer : Dye Type 7: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
This works best but even this shows errors…

=================

BTW, all media other than the Ritek is upposed to be 52X
Only Ritek is supposed to be 48X

@ Vyom

Physical memory : 255MB (261424kB)
Free physical memory: 29MB (29944kB)

You are running a system with very low memory. That may not be the whole problem, but this may contribute to the problem. You may have to refrain from multi-tasking while burning.

=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : ST340810A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON LTR-48125W atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On
If you are burning from your HDD to your Liteon, they are on the same IDE channel and that may be contributing to your problem. Try placing your burner on the opposite IDE channel from your source HDD.

Thanks. I will try this.
This was originally an external USB 2.0 CDRW drive. It was giving me simillar problem…

In that whatever I wrote I could not read it using any other drive…
so I tried it with the internal drive.
