Dell TSST TS-H553A help

Hi, I have this burner and I can’t seem to get any good burns from it. Some movies will have one pause during the whole movie while others will have multiple pauses all over which is usually near the end of the movie. I thought it was the encoding but watching the finished video on my computer doesn’t have any of these pauses. I have been using maxell DVD-Rs to burn these videos. Im wondering how I can test if its the burner or the DVD-Rs. Thanks for the help

My specs are
C2D 2.16 GHz
1 gig of ram
windows XP
latest firmware of the driver

Hi,

this might indeed be due to not-so-good media. Your friend’s drive might be better in reading bad discs, so the playback problems did not appear there.

Could you please provide the MID (Run Nero CD/DVD Speed, insert a disc and select the Disc Info tab)?
You may also try good quality media like Verbatim DVD+R.

Michael

Thanks for the response. I hope this is what you wanted. I guess I was using +Rs instead of -Rs but it didnt seem to matter. Also ill try and see if I can find some of those Verbatim DVD+R.

Yes, try different media. There are many drives, that can’t handle this MID very well. You should be okay with Verbatim discs.
