Can't believe I'm having so much difficulty in achieving the simplest things lately. A friend recently lent me a one of his movies to watch. However (out of the blue - to impress a female friend) he phoned me to ask for it back. so I (hurriedly) copied the files directly to my hard drive (like you do), :iagree: for later backing up.
Anyhow, "el dipsticko" forgot to start ANYDVD before copying the files over - result a copy (on my hard drive), complete with all encryptions. I cannot get the files transferred on to disk without an "ecryption found" error message coming up. The trouble is, that ANYDVD only appears to recognise optical drives, so I can't use it to correct the problem - it doesn't see the movie on the hard drive, sigh..................!
I reckon, it may be to do with "region" allocations, as when I try to view same with WINDVD it informs me that I'm using up the "region" privelages on my DVDRW drive (I've only got four left before it locks) so I've left well alone. Has anyone come across this issue before and is there a way of (sucessfully) getting the files backed up safely on to a DVD?
Advice gratefully received.
