Death

Thought i kinda promised a more humorous poll… let’s see what the opinions of death are.

Voted on 3 things… I hate the idea to die, so I fear it (I guess), so it’s my enemy as well and has to be avoided at all costs… I just wished I could

It is something that we can not avoid!

I try not to think about it.

Death? What’s that ?

… Never heard of it.

I felt life is to be happy. Death is karma (I had strict Buddhist/Confucian education in my childhood preaching self-sacrifice) so I chose […].

Seems to me you have not accepted that you are once destined to go. I mean … why try to avoid the unavoidable … it consumes energy which can be used for better things… such as living

I’ve not tried Death before :stuck_out_tongue:

But I am sure I WILL one day

No I did not… it’s just the fact that I like my live too much!

Death is freedom from our prison (see Life) .

Old people contribute nothing useful to society. Although the counter argument of wisdom is used, it is not a considerable point. In the primal days of man, the average life span was under 40 years. Man was born, did his duty, then died. Each was responsible for himself. In todays society, the old offer nothing other than a burden for those still vibrant and full of life. Although the sentimental value is great, and most people including me would hate to lose loved ones, in a cold way, death is a good thing. If no one died then the planet would be over populated with people who no longer contribute to building and improving society.

As you might have guessed I am not a fan of old people…:Z
Best to die like the vikings wanted to: in battle when you still had power. One of the most horrible experiences must be to watch yourself diminish from someone who is powerful, vibrant and very active in society to one that needs people help him take a crap.

Death is the only sure thing in our lives. :frowning: Good Mr. B, you made our day know.

Good old Lou expresses my opinion:

Some people, they like to go out dancing
And other peoples, they have to work, Just watch me now!
And there’s even some evil mothers
Well they’re gonna tell you that everything is just dirt
Y’know that, women, never really faint
And that villains always blink their eyes, woo!
And that, y’know, children are the only ones who blush!
And that, life is just to die!

If you do your research, you will discover that the world is so large that every human can have 7 acres of land to himself.

This goes for people claiming that the world is over-populated and there is no more room. This is one excuse pro-choice people use for murder.

Yes, but what sort of land? I would not want to have 7 acres of desert for myself. The farmable and sustainable land is not as vast as people think.

Also, how would one divide the land into 7 acres? I am pretty sure that no one would want to give up their land that easily. It a good utopian idea, but it just doesnt work.

Good point, FlyingDutchman.

OT, but why did you change your pic? the bullet was very cool…

We all live to eventually die. Am one who is looking forward meeting my maker.

I’d like to live in the 22nd century, too.

We can explore Universe in the future.

What if we never die and live forever? It could be miserable too when we’re 10,000 years old and life become really boring.

Fear of death is probably the most important factor leading to negative human actions. It could change the nature of humanity and all cross-human interactions. 10,000 years will be impossible but I want to live 100 years more if allowed. I won’t feel bored. If there are less reasons to fear death and disease, more people will have the mental state of nirvana though wiser people fear less even in face of death.
