This is the media I have used :
Ritek G04 DVD-R
The Philips simply fail during the burn and wont burn at any speed faster than 1x while doing so.... they are rated at 2.4x but when I try and burn, it chooses to burn at 1x (even though it states its burning at 2x) and then it just locks up.
I get the same problems with this drive on new installs, I have tried it on 3 new machines.
I have contacted NewEgg and asked them why they have this drive rated at replacement only, even though it does NOT state this on my receipt, I'll wait to post what they say. NewEgg might have a good reputation, but they are assholes when it comes to stuff like this, and will just treat you like a child and give you the run around. I called them and kept getting "Well it stated it on the site when you ordered it...." Though I KNOW if it had stated on the site it was refundable yet on the receipt that it was not, that I'd be outta luck.
I did not order the drive, someone did for me, so I told the tech on the phone "I did not make this order myself, and assumed that you send out proper Invoices. Had I known it was a non-refundable item, I would have not purchased it", and he was like "To Bad".
This is what it says on NewEgg's Invoice that they sent me ---> "Special ordered items are not refundable. All items come with manufacturers warranty only. Refurbished items come with 15-day warranty only. All refunds require 15% restocking fee." My item is not a special ordered item, so I dont see what the problem is.
I am considering giving them the finger for being assholes and charging the thing back -15% restocking fee. Has anyone else returned this drive and got a better one that has worked? The drive I has does work, just not very well at all... it doesnt like Nero 220.127.116.11, it doesnt like the media I use, and it doesnt like new clean installed systems.... what the hell does this POS require?
Any ideas ?
