I bought one: such vibrations at idle speed that noise was louder than normal speaking. (even outside the case, in hands). I exchanged it for the same model. No noise when out of the PC box but again far to mcuh vibration at low speed (idle spin). I took it back again to buy a LG burner…

My 760A lasted less than a year. Well under a year. I’m reluctant to pay the (relatively) big bucks for a Plextor any more. In my case, to get an RMA, I would have to take out the drive to get at information on it. A firmware readout was not good enough. This was too time consuming for me so I just junked the drive and bought an inexpensive NEC that is working just as good as the Plextor. For the money spent on the Plextor, I expected better customer support. Paul p.s. I no longer recommend Plextor. I do explain why, though.
