"Unless you buy TY, you are likely to be reburning every year anyways!"
This is an extreme and alarmist opinion, Sarah.
When storing DVDRs in proper conditions (reasonable temperature and humidity, no light, and of course careful handling), I think any MCC, MAXELL or RICOH media is likely to compete with TY's longevity.
Even my movies on Traxdata 4X, these G04 that you harshly criticize in another post ("mediocre at best" - please!), haven't aged a bit since they were burnt in January 2004. I scanned them all last month, no problem, PIE still under 30 and PIF under 4, perfect transfert curves. "Mediocre", indeed.
Of course, we all know that PRINCO and early CMC media degrade in less time than it takes to burn them  but hey, I'm tired of this "anything else than TY is crap" dogma.
As for these Datawrites, well, I don't think I would trust them. I tend not to trust anything that looks to good to be true. "Buy cheap = buy twice".
That's only my opinion, though. Doesn't rely on facts.
