I've been having the same problem, and in looking for an answer ended up here. I've also found a few interesing bits to add.
My problem happened suddenly. Everything has been working fine since I got my current computer (about a year). I verfiy every disc I burn, and never had problems until a few days ago. Now, EVERY DISC gets errors, IF i burn off of a SATA HD. If I copy the data to the IDE drive, it burns fine. I've burned numerous discs, and saved all the logs, and what's interesting is that on all three of the last burns off the SATA drive I've done, even different files, is that they have the EXACT same number of errors.
When I copy to the IDE drive, none. I've repeated the tests with Verbatim, Sony, and Memorex 16x -R media that I have. Exactly the same number of errors, but the sectors are never exactly the same.
So, i figured my SATA driver must be corrupt or something. So after I copied the data to the IDE drive, I ran a bit comparing program, and it verified fine. I double checked the Nero faults and sure enough, they are real. I can even see the corruption visually as when I play the files burned (mostly divx) I can see the little visual distortion.
I've reinstalled my MB drivers, actually the new drivers off the Intel site (I have a D945Pvs), and still the same thing. So it only affects burned files so far, not drive to drive copies or copies from optical media to the SATA drive.
That's all i've got. Any suggestions or if anyone has seen this problem before any help appreciated.
