Being a heavy downloader, I simply don't have enough space on any of my hard disks to fulfil my needs.
What I do is archive the older stuff onto CD/DVD as I like to keep hold of it (I've learnt from experience that once you delete something, inevitably you want it back at some point in the future). With the CD/DVD ageing process, I am worried about data integrity. I currently use QuickSFV for data verification when it comes to archiving stuff to CD/DVD. No problems there.
I'm pretty new to the movie side of things so I'm not best sure how to go about the data verification process with that, so I'm looking for advice/suggestions. Here are my options (please feel free to comment on pros/cons, or make alternative suggestions):
- VIDEO_TS folder contents
Use QuickSFV as usual
convert this folder to ISO, where WinRAR would detect corruption (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Look forward to your views,
