i burned an extremely important folder using nero 5.5 onto a cdr that was burned months ago. it worked, it verified the data, i found the data on there myself.
then i added a folder, and now it looks like everything previously recorded is gone. apparently when i record lately, everything from before disappears. i must be doing something wrong. however, i didn't think a cd-r could act like a cd-rw.
one tech i called said maybe the cd just lost track of where the files are. is it possible the data is still there? and if so, is it possible to retrieve it? (i wiped the hard drive copy 7 times with Eraser, not having any idea the cd would stop working. my data recovery program shows 0 bytes for all the files, so i think the hard drive is a dead end.)
