[/QUOTE]Easily done if you’re holding a screw with that hand and applying pressure on the screwdriver with the other. Did the same thing a few years ago, where the bit went into the joint and a lot of joint (synovial) fluid came out :(. Luckily it didn’t get infected and repaired nicely :).
It’s one of my bug-bears about Philips (or other cross-head) screw patterns: you need a lot more driver force to keep the contact engaged. Slot-head screws - although old-fashioned - require way less and I’ve gone back to using them pretty much all the time.
Glad to hear it wasn’t serious enough to interrupt the fishing expedition
