right to disc sounds like a bad idea for dv owners since tapes only hold 60min of video so your wasting a whole dual layer disc on 1 60min movie. Unless you can figure a way to pause while burning and allowing you to switch tapes then i can see the use

Do you lose any video quality going from DV to DVD? The bit rate of DV is alot higher than DVD I’ve been meaning to copy some of my tapes onto DVD for a while now.
