Cue sheet error "Illegal Time Value specified"

vbimport

#1

I am trying to burn a copy of an essential mix using a cue sheet.

If I use cdrwin it displays the error “Invalid CUE SHEET command at line 69 Illegal MM:SS:FF time value specified”

line 69 reads " INDEX 01 95:11:00 "

If I try to burn this cue using nero it comes up with the error

“an error occurred while loading the cue sheet file c:\sasha cue.cue (line 73)”

Line 73 reads “INDEX 01 101:20:00”

Here is the entire cue sheet.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

StrayKatk, welcome to the forum!

You are trying to burn far more onto a CD than what an ordinary CD can hold.
Your Cue sheet contains more than 117 minutes of audio!

Ordinary 80min 700MB CD-R media can hold (surprise surprise) only 80 minutes of audio, or perhaps a couple of extra minutes if you “overburn” your media.

There are some advanced scenarios where more is possible (see below), but I don’t think any of those scenarios apply to your situation.

Your solution is to change the Cue sheet so that you don’t try to burn more than 79:59 onto your CD-R media, or perhaps as much as 81-82 min if you’re willing to experiment with overburning.

Advanced Scenarios

If you have special 90min, 99min or 100min CD-R media, and your drive supports it, you might be able to write close to 100 minutes - the resulting disc will not be readable in many drives however.

The only way of burning more than 117 minutes of audio, like you are trying with your Cue sheet, is to combine the special GigaRec feature only available with certain Plextor drives and special 99+ minutes media, and you would probably only be able to play the disc in the same drive.

Ok, that makes sense. I thought the software would automatically assume you want to carry it over to a second disk and then burn the first 80 mins then prompt for a second disk to burn the remainder.

If I edit the cue sheet will I need to make any changes to the audio file?

Since you’re using a single mp3 file for your CUE sheet, you will need to cut off the end of the mp3 file (or a copy of the mp3 file) so that the file only contains what you want to burn to CD.

If you don’t already have tool for splitting/cutting/trimming mp3 files, you could have a look at mp3DirectCut.
