CSS or non-CSS version of DVDFab?

Two links

http://www.dvdfab.net/download.htm

http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm?s=fabplatinum

Two versions of same program, one “CSS” and the other “non-CSS”.

What’s the difference and why should one get one vs the other? I would think this should be in the FAQ on the DVDFab site but I see nothing mentioned about it.

This is Interesting… did not even realized there are 2 versions. Strange, that there are 2 versions, but which is the REAL version…one could be a FAKE??? (ie :- Phishing site).

What if some one wanted to buy the CSS version and buy the non-css version…then what happen!!!

You’re very correct…Users need to be “know” about it. Can someone kindly explain!!!

On the link that is provided on the 4.1.2.0 thread here, it points to the CSS version. When I purchased DVDFab Platinum, the email confirmation link points to the non-CSS version (which is the one I installed). The “about/version” number just says DVDFab Platinum, 4.1.2.0 but makes not mention of “CSS” or “non-CSS”.

This got me thinking which one am I supposed to have and what is the difference between the two (both same version number and both the same size).

This keeps popping up now and again, so you’re probably right…maybe there should be a explanation on the homepage and perhaps there are perfectly good reasons there is not… ?

Here’s the deal as I understand it:

Neither are fake.

Always download the css version (decrypter version) and either
from cdf or Fengtao’s home page:
http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm
You will always be downloading css versions.

The non-css version (non-decrypter version) is available for legal/business reasons.
It is available at:
http://www.dvdfab.net/

If you click on the Buy Now button on Fab.com, you actually will link to Fab.net where you will complete the purchase, but don’t download the non-css version. I don’t know that anything “bad” will happen should you install it, but it will serve no useful purpose.

Actually, there is a thread about this subject. I read thur several other thread regarding this topic…It was mentioned that the reasons for 2 Versions are “for legal and business reasons”.

But I still think that it should be mentioned in DVDFAB.COM website about this so users are aware of it. Considering that there are so many COPY-CATS & dangerous programs that can steal users information.

Now I shall be extremely carefull downloading.

Thank you

I don’t know that anything “bad” will happen should you install it, but it will serve no useful purpose.

So does that mean one version has something or lacks something of the other?

If the non-CSS version is not the one to get, it’s interesting that after purchasing it, the link provided points to the non-CSS version which is the one I downloaded (and installed).

It seems something needs to be cleared up here.

Now I don’t know what I’m supposed to do as I have the non-CSS version. Am I supposed to now install the CSS version on top of it? It’s also interesting to note that after installing, the version information from the program doesn’t specify which one you have. This is not acceptable to me.

The non-CSS version will probably not take out the copy protection.

Oh hell, that’s great. What’s that, like making a Viagra pill containing all aspirin? (I guess the aspirin would be to cure the headache the wife gives you when she says, “what’s up”?)

I just installed the CSS version on top of the non-CSS version. I hope that took care of it. Jeez!

I think this is a LITTLE information that should be included when purchasing this software to not use the link provided in the email confirmation! Duh!

Edit. I did notice that on the non-CSS version, that the box “Remove CSS” was still there under the “Protection” section. Dunno if it actually did anything though as I didn’t test it before I installed the CSS version over it.

But as a user, ( and average knowledge of Computer), I will be very worry, since both website are so similar and would immediate suspect that one of it is FAKE or worst… Pharming. This is EXTREMELY SCARY.

Sorry to say this again…but I think DVDFAB should do something about it.

Enough Said…

I love DVDFAB Platium, for all the right reasons.

I am sure they have a lot of good followers and devoted users. As long as they maintain good customer services, keep their products updated, and maintain good security, these can give me peace of mind.

Thank you

Thank you
as far as updates go you will see that he keeps this program updated more than any other program out there, when any problem arises he is on it right now with an update to correct it, also the author of DVDFAB comes into this forum to help people out who has problems which in my mind is OUTSTANDING :iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree: and BTW welcome to the forum

I agree it would be nice to completely know the difference. I first thought that it did not decrypt , now I am not sure.
It states that NEW: DVDFab Region Free plus CSS free now decrypts both DVD’s and copy protected CD’s.

It also say that it runs in the background. So to me it kinda sounds alot like what DVD43 used to do.

And it states with DVD Region Free plus CSS free that programs like DVDFab, DVD X can copy CSS protected DVD’s

Can someone please give some complete information on this.

I just had another referral sign up this morning to DVDFab Platinum which now gives me a total of 19 who have signed up for DVD Platinum…

I have however had several questions about CSS free. Which I cannot clearly answer.

Would really like to know myself as well as inform people who I have referred when they ask questions

Thanks snagel

Hi snagel: you always want to refer to the .com DVD Fab Webpage, Here
http://www.dvdfab.com/?vid=avangate&aid=689
The other is just for countrys that do not allow programs that third party decrypters built in, like Germany I believe. Forget the other one. Just make sure they buy it before May8th so they get the good price.

#16

Snagel you can not buy DVDFAB region free+css sales have been on hold for about a year, I do not think it will be for sale in the future.

#17

Just refer them to this Webpage, leave the others alone,
http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm This is what they want.

Thanks alan1476
that makes sense to me now. I can understand that explanation. The Platinum is the one that I have told everyone to download. However the other did make it hard to understand. Number 20 is now ready to order. He is typing his credit card info as I type this.

Thanks again alan

I’m sure Fengtao and Ting appreciate the word of mouth business Snagel.
