CRW-F1 and Safedisc 2.6

I have read G@M3FR3@K’s excellent Review of the F1, I have had no trouble copying safedisc 2.51 games, I have even tested making backup’s of backup’s and all is well.

However there is no mention of safedisc testing versions higher than 2.51.021.

Will the Yamaha handle safedisc 2.6… as is the case with Battlefield 1942?

Sorry… alexnoe, Found a post you made about differences between Safedisc 2.5xx and 2.6xx

“There’s no difference between SD 2.60 and SD 2.51.021, except that weak sectors are between sector 1000 and 1500, not 0 - 500”

So I am guessing that I should have no trouble with current versions of safedics?

Should do 2.6+ if you use clone cd’s Amplify Weak Sectors option.

Thanks  And true: the Yamaha CRW-F1 makes nearly perfect copies even when AWS is not enabled. The only problem is that the back-ups created without AWS wouldn’t work in a Toshiba SD-M1502 DVD-ROM, which is the perfect SafeDisc 2 back-up tester. When AWS was enabled the Toshiba would play the back-up.
