Corrupt file: devldr32.exe

I just reformatted my comp and I put on Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3 the other day and after it was all done, i installed Norton Antivirus version 8.07.17C (the latest one with all the updates), and a screen popped up saying:
“The file C:\WINNT\Fonts~GLH0003.TMP
is infected with the Backdoor.Dvldr virus.
Unable to repair this file.”
After I closed this box, I tried to open up a few programs (Macromedia Flash MX, Adobe Photoshop 7.0) and it said “file devldr32.exe is corrupt, an error log is being created”. I asked my friend what this file is, he doesnt have it on his computer. So I am wondering what this “devldr32.exe” is, if I should even have the this file on my computer, and if not, what to do about it?

I guess you are using a Creative soundcard, is that right?

Ah yes… this is what I found:

Process File: devldr32 or devldr32.exe
Process Name: Create Device Loader
Description: Creative Device Loader is a Create Soundblaster Driver

I don’t know what this had to do with Flash and PS, but I suggest you reinstall your Creative drivers. Better uninstall all Creative drivers first, download new drivers from and install those.

Keep us updated
