Corrupt data

There is corrupt data on my Kane and Lynch Dead Men dvd ,is there a way to fix this

Yes: go to the store and ask for a new disc because the one you bought is damaged

i can’t return it and I’m trying recover the data with CdCheck and CD Recovery Toolbox but it taking alot of time to recovery .please just upload the files. the files there located in the program files\Eidos\Kane and Lynch Dead Men\Scenes\Locations.The folders are named M11_B and M12_A.

Uploading the files isn’t an option, due to copyright.

Some drives are better readers than others - do you have a friend who has a LiteOn or recent Samsung drive, that you can try to recover the files from?

the dvd is a dual layer disc and i don’t reckon they have a dual layer reader

First of all, a late welcome gamer19.

Second, almost any 10y old DVD drive is able to read DL discs.
Tell us more about you problem. Details please. Hardware/Software used, aso.

Anyway, the best thing to do as suggested by geno888; get a new disc.

This drive is certainly able to read DL discs

If you can’t get a RMA (and I can’t understand why ), the only option is trying to read that disc with a different drive. Different drives could be able to recover different part of the disc, so you can try to ask a friend to read the part of the disc your drive is not able to recover

Yep…I suggested reading on a friend’s drive above and the OP said this:

However, I agree that the 4167 most definitely can read DL discs - but it’s not the best reader of corrupt or scratched discs (at least, mine isn’t).

So I agree, time to get a new disc…or another option is a better reading drive, but a new disc is cheaper

It was good advice, and worth saying twice :flower:

Dont you have the 4167B Geno? Or did you own the drive at one time? I could swear you did
