CopyToDVD copies are unreadable

After copying some loose files (images mostly) to a 4.7GB DVD-R using CopyToDVD, I find that the disc is only readable in the drive from which it was burned. I’m wondering what would cause this and how it could be rectified.

Here’s my setup:
CopyToDVD with CopyToDVD Manager
Windows XP Pro
Sony DRU-530A burner with 2.1a firmware
3.2 GHz Pentium 4

What drive are you trying to read it with, have you tried it on another PC.

I’ve tried reading it with a Sony DDU-1521 DVD drive which is installed in the same machine as the burner, and also with an older NEC DV-5500A drive in another machne (2.4 GHz P4 running Win XP Pro).

Hi there,

I have hit a similar problem. Did a re-install (clean) of xp and any dvds/cds i burnt on my win 2000 sp4 work laptop, aren’t playable or seen by my home pc. however if i burn dvds/cds on my home xp pc, the dvds/cds are readable in other pcs? Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
