Copying to a dvd

Hi, I am having trouble writing files to a dvd, well when I say trouble I mean more than 1 file to a dvd. I have recorded video from a cam corder and after loading it onto the computer I can’t seem to load more than 1 movie onto a dvd. The individual movies are around 1gb each, so I was hoping to put 3 or 4 on each disk. I can copy 1 movie from my hard disk and copy it onto a dvd with Roxio but other than that I can seem to do anything else. The file extensions is .gi Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

If your camcorder records to miniDVD,then finalize the disc first then transfer to PC…then use perhaps DVDFlick or FAVC CX2DVD,to compile your files…

See this thread on .gi file from a few days ago…disregard title, scroll to #14 post

Hi

Thanks for the reply, but all the disks have been finalised before putting them onto my computer. I don’t have the programmes you mentioned on my computer, are these free downloads? If you have any other ideas I would be grateful, otherwise I will be tearing my hair out!

thanks again,

Phil

Yeah they are freeware… But when you finalize disc is it still in .gi format on PC?..can you transfer as avi perhaps or mpg? What camcorder is it?..
I don’t think the proggy’s I mentioned accept .gi files,I haven’t tried though…

Hi

There is some good news and bad news; the good news is when I insert the mini disk into the dvd drive Windows Media Player opens up and I have the option of which section of the movie I want to play, the bad news is I can’t seem to see what file it is, although it could be a UDF?

So is this any good to be able to 1, copy each disc to the hard drive and 2, be able to copy more than one movie onto a dvd?

Hope you can help, thanks.

Phil

Hope this helps,

Phil
