I am very newbie so please excuse if I use wrong terminology.
I have a Motorola (I can get model # etc. if that will help) Cable Converter / DVR connected to Cable service that is then connected to older DVD player and then TV.
I use the DVR primarily to timeshift what I watch (and blaze through commercials). I can play a program saved on the Motorola DVR and copy it on the DVD. But, of course that means takes the entire length of time move the program from the DVR to DVD.
I have a really nice patio outside and recently bought a MacBook with DVD player. I would like to be able to "download" shows from the DVR to the MacBook harddrive or a DVD that I can then load into the MACbook so I can watch it outside on the patio on the MACbook. But, if I have to "record" the program by playing it on the DVR while copying to DVD, that defeats the purpose.
The Motorola DVR has a USB port. Can this be done?
I am really a newbie, so please be as basic as possible with your instructions.
Thanks in advance for your help.
