Copying DVD with unreadable sectors

I am trying to copy a DVD. It has a silver back. When i try to copy the Video files in the VIDEO_TS folder, windows stops half way through saying source bad.

I then ran BlindWrite on it, and ran it on using the Bad Sector profile.

It copied, i put the DVD in my dvd player, and it said WRONG DISC TYPE.

I then downloaded VSO Spector, and ran it on the source. It read fine up until 2gb, then Unreadable Sector between XXX and YYY. and so on a few times, until Failed to Read from xxxx to xxxx.

I also tried this on AnyDVD on it, this is what it said:

Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD 6.3.1.5)
OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5170A 1.11 JUL19,2006
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)

Media is a DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 1
Total size: 1137056 sectors (2220 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: NEW
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: PAL
Media is region free.

RCE protection not found.
Structural copy protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Can someone advise what the problem could be and how i can copy this DVD?

The DVD is NOT scratched or defaced in anyway, it is brand new.

Many thanks,

Try the Anydvd Ripper to HDD or image option and see if it doesn’t work?

AnyDVD ripper? do you mean clonedvd with anydvd ?

You can try ‘Alcohol 120%’ at www.alcohol-soft.com. It’s not free but you can trial it for free for 30 days. It allows you to ignore errors and will copy a DVD with errors/scratches. Very comprehensive log as well.
