Copy Sub from on DVD to Another

Hello, this is my first post so take it easy!

I have a (and maybe stupid) question!

Lets say, i have 2 versions of Lord of the Rings on DVD, all of them are original, the 1st have Portuguese subtitles and the second only have in English (bought on amazon)

So what i want to do is to know if theres any way to backup the english version and add the portuguese subtitles from the other dvd!

If im not mistaken the dvds are similar, same version, but diferent languages!!

If they are the same version, why even bother? Just watch the version with the subs that you want. If they aren’t the same version, it isn’t worth the effort as they won’t match.
