Copy protection first victims are the naive buyers of CD's, that are prevented to make a occasional copy to listen to in the car. They get the rubbish input to the disc and pay the price, but the real pirate guys will find a way to duplicate and sell by the thousands. On the other hand, this is part of s strategy to sell immaterial, compressed, lower quality downloadble stuff ...at the same price and significant cut in costs. The down in sales is a big story also: they sell crap and forget rising sales of dvd, etc. To me, they did not sell a lot of CDs so far (I count them by the dozens...), just because I do not buy copy protected discs that do not guaranty I can use them in the car or other equipment.
