This tutorial is based on version 3.3.4.1

First of all get yourself CloneCD.
(http://www.elby.de). After you downloaded it get yourself the latest Clony XXL version, this is a copy protection scanner wich helps to determine the settings you need for CloneCD to make a correct, working, NON crack needed backup. (http://home.arcor.de/bejot/)

Or check http://baseportal.de/cgi-bin/baseportal.pl?htx=/clonecd/main for the settings you need for your game, this is a page wich list the settings needed for several games. (feedback was given by people who created backups of these games)

Put the CD in your reader and create a backup with the settings you got from Clony XXL or the other page mentioned.

You now have a correct backup of your game.

Burn it back to a CDR using the settings you got from Clony XXL or the mentioned page.

REMARKS:
Some games with certain protections, like safedisc 2.51, need special burners.
You can check wheter your burners has this special abillity by checking the CloneCD homepage and then the "supported writers" tab.
Check wheter your burners has two dots at: Correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns. If this is so, this means your burner can burn every protected game / audio CD in the universe.

If it has only one dot, your burner can burn most protected CD's. (Besides Safedisc 2.51 and higher)

If it hasn't got any dot, I suggest to buy yourself a new burner.

RAW+96 is the best supported read mode for Data and Audio. If your burner or reader supports this, you can make a backup of (almost) any protetected game / audio CD in the universe.

P.S. I just saw an excellent tutorial in this forum. So delete this if you think this post is unnecessary.
