I recently noticed consistently about .5% - 1% less max jitter and 50% less PI errors total by ripping the vobs to hard drive and burning as DVD vid files than copying disk to disk. Hardware BenQ 1640 and LiteOn DVD ROM with Verbatim or Taiyo disks. Disk copy software Ulead Moviefactory, Nero for burning from the hard drive. Do other people get similar results with the same method and different setups?

But yeah, it’s ALWAYS advisable to rip and then burn, for any number of reasons. You’ve just highlighted a good one.
