Ok so I am horrible with discs if I take them out of my house and I am taking a trip to my mom's and I want to take my sims with me to entertain myself while she's at work and I'm bored in the house. But I don't want to fudge all my discs up nor carry all 2 feet worth of cases in my suitcase so I figure ok make backups and then screw up those. So after a little research I discover that Alcohol 120% seems to be the go to program for reading secure discs, I've already used up the trial period offer on cd clone playing with that so can't try that, and I don't want to invest in a program till I really know it will work for the games.
So in using Alcohol 120% I am 52 min and at 2% with a ton of disc read errors ranging between 809 and most recently 8046. I read someone say something about some burners being cranky with this ... and I'm wondering if I should just give up. I have a pioneer dvd-rw dvr-111d. Any advice on why this is taking so long ... or am I just needing to learn patience?
