I have recently started to try an backup my dvd collection because my little brother raided my dvds and scratched up one of my Cowboy Bebop discs and I had to repurchase the series.
Anyway, I have tried to copy a disc using DVD Decrypter. I have copied the files to HDD as well as an .iso image file. I burnt the image file using DVDD onto a Verbatim(MIS) DVD+R DL disc and recieved no error messages. The disc plays in my computer but neither of the two DVD players i have. I get an error message from one of the players saying that it is unable to read the disc.
I read a few thread on the forum here and found that by changing the book typing to DVD-ROM might solve the issue. I looked in DVDD for the setting options but they were not there for a TSSTcorp SH-S182M burner. I then tried to burn the .iso image using DVDFab Platinum 18.104.22.168 (Not latest version) trial with the option checked to auto change the booktype to DVD-ROM (as it is older, i probably should have used ImgBurn which specifically mentions Samsung drives for this function.). Everything went fine during the burn, but i have the same issue as before with the disc only playing in my computer.
I'm not sure what to check next. I have the latest version of ImgBurn so i could try that and see if it does the booktyping correctly. I used Nero InfoTool and the burnt disc is of type DVD-Video and not DVD-ROM so the booktyping might have not worked, but with the little experience i have I'm not sure whether it will say DVD-ROM or not? (I expect it should).
I believe i have given as much info as possible. I didn't save the log files. Thanks in advance for those who help.
