Copied DVD but unwanted Subtitles copied also

I converted my copy of ‘The Godfather’ that I bought to mp4 so I could view it on my phone. It worked fine except for the fact that it gave my mp4 subtitles which I don’t want (need). I did not see an option in the set-up screen to avoid this. How can I convert it without subtitles?
