Copied AVI files appear shorter on machine than on CD/DVD

Hi,

I’ve just burnt some avi files onto both a RW DVD and a CDR, checked all files on the PC from the discs and they are all full length movies. I then put the CD/DVD in my LIteon 5045GDL+ and they appear to be much reduced length (in one case a 2 hour movie had only the first 3minutes). I rechecked the CD/DVD on the PC and they were full length still.

ANy ideas?

Sounds like an error in a header.

I had this on some downloaded files once, all my AVI files I made from my own DVD’s play fine however.

You might end up having to re-encode them or finding a program that can correct the file headers (sorry, I dont know of one).
