I have TimeWarner Cable TV in Troy, NY 12180. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800 MODEL 1128 PCI-e Internal HDTV Card. I have a matched pair of Samsung 2333SW monitors. They are described as HDCP, or "High-Bandwith Digital Content Protection" monitors. Does this mean I can watch HD content on them? They are 23-inch diagonal 1920x1080 (16:9) maximum resolution.
I intend to use SnapStream BeyondTV4 software but am confused by the How BeyondTV Works section.
To get all my regular and premium channels on my computer in the highest quality available given my computer's hardware constraints, do I need both the Regular Cable and the Digital Cable/Set-Top Box in a split configuration to my Hauppauge Card? Alternately, do I simply need the latter, the Digital Cable/Set-Top Box to Hauppauge Card with the PC IR Blaster External Tuner.
I realize that my question is complex and I've tried my best to provide targeted links to clarify my points of confusion. In short: I want the ability to watch and record the highest quality Cable TV on my computer but am baffled by the alternatives and drowning in my own ignorance.
