Convertxtodvd No Color with Burn

vbimport

#1

I recently burned an xvid to dvd using convertxtodvd. Everything seemed to go well, but when I played the dvd, there wasn’t any color. The audio was fine, and video seemed good with the exception that it was in black and white. Also the dvd didn’t show the menu at startup. The log is included below. Any help would be appreciated.

I would guess that as the Video is PAL (25fps) & your default language is US that this might be the problem. Also the way you spell color leads me to this assumption.

Typically a PAL video on an NTSC DVD Player/TV that can’t properly handle PAL will show B/W rather than colour.

#3

Makes sense, so would selecting NTSC under tv format solve the problem or is it more complicated?

#4

Definitely worth a try. I don’t know how well convertxtodvd handles that but you’ve got to try it.

#5

Yes. Forcing NTSC should fix this.

However, normally PAL on non-compatible NTSC player/TV produces rolling effect or losing bottom of picture, and NTSC on non-compatible PAL player/TV produces b/w.

If you are not having any problems with commercial titles on same player then I assume that your system is properly configured. One reason for getting b/w video from DVD player is using wrong connections, feeding only composite video to system that requires separate colors etc.

Hi there,

OH MY GOD

CMC MAG are the lowest quality media on the market.

Personally, I would not burn those higher than x2.0 (But that’s me).

Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell DVD-R made in Japan are top notch quality media :iagree:

And yes, if you need NTSC, force all conversions to NTSC !
