ConvertXtoDVD 2.0.12 and 2.35 AR

I have an AVI with an aspect ratio of 2.35. After running it through
convertxtodvd (set to 16:9) and burning it, the video on my tv shows
up as wide screen, but not 2.35. A portion of it is being cut off horizontally.

Other then that, it seems fine–no stretching and it has the top and bottom
black borders, just not as big as they should be.

When I play the DVD VOB files on my PC (with MediaPlayer classic), the
aspect ratio seems to be correct and nothing is cut off. But MediaPlayer
might be adjusting the video size.

I have a standard 4:3 TV and my DVD player is a Panasonic RV31.

What can I check or do to have the video display at 2.35 on my TV?

You can not.

DVD standard allows only 4:3 or 16:9 ARs.
ConvertXtoDVD is trying to fit as much as possible, sometimes TVs own overscan is hiding parts of picture.

Read this thread and check your TV.
