ConvertX 205 dvd structure question

I successfully encode avi files to dvd format files.
When I try to burn the dvd in CloneDVD2, my favorite, I get an error that the dvd structure is not correct and it will not burn.

When I burn the dvd files with ConvertX it works but I always get a line in the log:

“VIDEO_TS.IFO/BUP reallocated to keep DVD VIDEO structure compatibility”

which appears to be a structure correction so it can burn the dvd properly.
The dvd does burn properly.

What is this about? Do I have a setting set wrong? I did not get the error with the older 199 version.

Thanks for your comments,
lafjax

Hi there,

This is a little something I have reported to VSO and it’s really minor, should be fixed in future releases.

Thanks for pointing it out !

Hey, Thanks!
i just upgraded to v207 and the error is still there. It’s no big deal if you burn with convertx but if you burn with another program or do further dvd editing other programs do not recognize the structure. Maybe they’ll get it fixed next time.

Hi there,

Ohh editing tools doesn’t like it ?

I will add this comment to the Bug Report I have opened !

There is something wrong with the DVD structure produced. Please see the error that DVDRemake Pro catches when i load a DVD made witht the latest ConvertX.

Version 208 still gives

“VIDEO_TS.IFO/BUP reallocated to keep DVD VIDEO structure compatibility”

structure error when burning with convertx. Still will not burn with other programs like CloneDVD2.

open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in ifoedit, hit get vts sectors, it will correct 1 error and then you can burn with clonedvd or any other program without error.

Thanks for the suggestion but why should I have to do this extra step…shouldn’t ConvertX make dvd compliant structure dvd files?

yes it probably should, but that’s down to the developers to sort ghehe.
