Is it possible to convert a subtitle file from sup to srt? If yes, how?
Use either Vobsub (subresync.exe) or SubRip. Both will do an ocr conversion of the grapical sub subtitles to a text based srt file.
OCR conversion usually is not perfect and many characters are not correctly recognized and need to be manually corrected. I was looking for a method to automatically convert a sup (binary) to srt or sub.
I have never had a problem with SubRip except for capital I and lower case l getting mixed up (but thats the way they exist in the original sup file graphics ) You can adjust the sensitivity in its options if your missing any characters.
If your looking for something fully automatic, then you will be waiting a long time.
Yes. Rip the subtitle with SubRip, open the .SRT file with WinWord and check the spelling of the file, correcting another version of the same file with Notepad. A little time-consuming, but makes a prefect result.
what you DID NOT UNDERSTAND is that SUP is NOT SUB… so DOESNT WORK WITH SUBRIP!
