Converting MKV with ASS subtitles to DVD/ ...AVStoDVD problem

Hi everyone & thank you all for your help in the past.

I would like to know if it is possible/ any solutions as to how to convert a MKV file with ASS subtitles (as seen on my PC) into a DVD.

In the past I tried everything but ended up having to resort to converting the ASS file into a SRT file, but this is not an option for this conversion as the ASS file has stuff posted all over the screen that makes no sense after a SRT conversion (…& I really don’t like watching Anime on my PC).

I would really appreciate some help here …please!

I did a fairly comprehensive new search regarding this when I got these files & discovered “AVStoDVD” but although this can convert small portions of these files it sadly soon dies/ crashes – from a 25 min file I get say 2.5 min intact correct & then crash (so close but so so far away! :frowning: ). I can’t find any forums for this software though note Kerry56 has written about it here. Please help!

If it helps here is one of the many different log reports for this software:

As far as I can tell it stopped in the pulldown process in DGPulldown. There is no mention of subtitle conversion in the log.

You might try changing the AVS downsize filter in Preferences–>Avisynth from Spline64Resize to Spline16Resize.

If you want to talk to the author directly, he has a support thread over at videohelp.com, and is pretty good about answering questions. http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/277852-AVStoDVD-Support-Thread
