I use a software package called “DVD Workshop” by Ulead.
The software lets you (1) import .avi files
(2) create a menu chapter points for the DVD
(3) convert the .avi files to mpeg2 (.ifo & .vob)
(4) Automatically burns the files it creates into
the proper structure and form to play on most
“stand alone” TV connected DVD players.

"i want to burn it with CopyToDvd so i need the .ifo file " I think you mean ISO file. As said by super vegeta ss, check out the guide at http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=61142 A simple 10sec search would have found this for you as well.

thank you!! is (1) through (4) difficult to do? i just downloaded DVD workshop and i can’t figure out how to convert avi (or vid) files to video_ts files that can burn and the play on most stand alone dvd players. would it be too much to ask for step by step before i contact Ulead?

The thread you have bumped up is 5 years old minalade. There are easier tools to use for avi to dvd conversions. Try DVDFlick if you are really new to the process: http://www.dvdflick.net/

Another good, free one is AVStoDVD. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AVStoDVD
