Converting a WAV file to an MP3 and then back to a WAV

When you rip a CD audio track to a WAV file, and then convert the WAV file to an MP3, and then convert that MP3 back into a WAV file, will the WAV that results be of lesser quality than the original WAV that was made from ripping the CD track?

why would you want to do that

Yes

Every conversion results in a loss of quality (some conversions more than others)
