They asked Blu-Ray owners which is in minority compared to the bulk of HDTV viewers at present. So this survey is lop sided.

So how much is Sony paying “Blu-Ray Freaks” for promoting their garbage?

C’mon, man. Is that really warranted? Michael is just reporting what he thinks is news. If this place was Blu-rayFreaks.com and Sony had them on the payroll, I wouldn’t be here.

It makes sense though. For digital distribution, either you have to download a really giant file to get bluray quality, or you have to cut corners in which case you can cut the size down to a dvd. Even a 6-8 gig file has the drawbacks of still being rather large. ISP’s keep implement caps. So the customer has to wait for it to download, and if they’re big into movies they’re going to have problems with their isp’s. ISP’s are going backwards, these company’s want digital distribution, but ISP’s don’t want to upgrade networks, and want to continue reduce QOS (or start charging huge fees to download more).

Hi DukeNukem, thanks for the support! To add to Duke’s thoughts, if we mysteriously received payments from Sony, I doubt we would publish all of these stories that mention how Blu-ray sales have struggled so much.

To get back on topic, I think it’s only a matter of time before a survey like this reveals owners like streaming content just as much, if not more than Blu-ray. You must remember that streaming HD content is VERY new for consumers…
