Why shocking? Because it is too high? For me, 9% appears to be a pretty good figure for Blu-Ray. And all this with players having pretty high prices. If, by year’s end, some cheap players show up, those 9% might even increase. It all depends on the push that Blu-Ray companies decide to apply to the format. If they decide to make a concerted effort, i.e. price reduction, what will happen? This is basically year 1 of Blu-Ray, i.e. the first one without HDDVD on the scene. If they start with a 9% figure right now, adoption might end up being a lot faster than I thought.
