Hey sorry guys I dont have any details on firmware, but I was wondering whoever does have info post it here. I’m totally new to firmware and I was wondering what the cons and pros are to using firmware? Like why would I upgrade the firmware? Would it be better or worse?

If you want to know what burner I have, I got a Liteon 32x12x40

Well in your case you can get P-CAV writing (which is faster). That is if your firmware is an old one.
I see no reason not to upgrade when LiteOn releases new firmware. You can always flash back if you don’t like the new FW…

Sorry, I can’t resist given the phrasing of the question…
Pros of using firmware: Your equipment will work if you do.
Cons: Your equipment won’t work without it.

(In case the original poster really doesn’t know what firmware is, it’s the software contained in the device, in this case the CDRW drive, that makes it work. If the firmware were erased you’d have a dead drive.)
