[qanda]This thread is about the LG GH22L. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hi all,
Have a GH22LS30. Burns fine, reads fine. The problem I'm having is that I suffer from considerable slowdown/hanging during the lead-in and lead-out portions of a burn. The drive is in a brand new computer (e7200 core 2 duo, 4 gigs of ram, fast HDD etc.).
Surprisingly the dvd-burner in my 5 year old dell XPS gen2 only gives a minor hiccup during the lead-in/lead-out, yet this burner in a modern PC forces me to wait for the lead-in/lead-out to be finished before I can use any other programs (e.g. firefox is unresponsive during the lead-in/lead-outs).
It's not a dma issue + drive is on sata. I'm using nero now but will try infraburn, though I feel like this is more likely to be a hardware rather than software issue.
Any ideas, is this normal for modern burners? When upgrading from 5 year old hardware I was rather expecting improved performance!
