what i did the whole morning now…to prove my point…

* Reinstall my OS and installed service pack2 with all updates

  • Installed Nero 6.3.1.25
    * change IDE cable also to the one supplied by BenQ…

DVD writer tested :
DW1600 flash to DW1620 B7K9 bought this yesterday SGD$99 about USD58

Connection :
DW1600 > 1620 Master ( Sept Batch )
TDK1616DLN Slave ( second drive swapp : Sept Batch also CMI)

IDE Driver:
Windows IDE default driver

Data Size : 4.451 ( both burns are the same )
Media : TY OEM white Printable +R 8X
Code : YUDEN-000-T02

Summary of Burn

Cool I quess that settles the TY02 question between the two. Why don’t you post the same thing over at the NEC forum. :iagree: You ought to Ghost your drive now that you have a fresh install.

Here’s a TY02 burn at 6min 6 secs with the M beta firmware. I’m testing it out for BenQ.

Next disk in spindle burned at 7min 49 secs. It would have been more telling if it maxed out the disk. BTW I like your table, I think that makes comparisons much easier to analyze.

My result, both drives at 16x. Using printable TY 8x DVD+R, Nero 6.3.1.25, Windows XP SP2, 80-conductor IDE cable, single master onboard IDE, default Microsoft IDE driver. :smiley:

naaa…need not to ghost…cause my old OS is still on another HDD…this HDD i just plog in and installed the OS and Nero…and all updates…it is i would say a bare min system

b7m9 is beta firmware hopefuly b7m9 release will be different. from what i have heard 1620 burns ty t02 slower with b7m9 beta than b7k9 or b7l9. hopefuly it wont be the same with b7m9 release.

Continue, this time with Nero 6.6.0.1 & Fujifilm (TY OEM) 8x DVD+R @ 16x
