Hey, all. First post.

Just wanted to compliment the guys. I’ve used a copy of DVDFab for a few months now with a hacked license.

After thoroughly enjoying the product, I decided to get rid of the hacked version and just buy the thing outright. My version worked fine, but I decided to get “legit”.:cop:

Anyways, this is my sort-of public confession. But they have my $50, and I’ve got a great piece of software. Downloading 5.0 Beta now, looking forward to the experience.

Anybody else here start off with a hacked version?

…shame on me

At first time i did use a cracked DVDFab. :o But after 2 mounth I did buy a legal licence. This is the only way to get real good software in future.

If anybody use cracks, how should good programmers like Fengtao & Ting develope such excelent pieces a la DVDFab ???

Why even talk about this in the forum ? BTW my copy has always been legit

my last but one PC ( bought used on Ebay) had a cracked version installed ( 2.9 i think), along with lots of other dvd utilitities. I didn’t try it out for ages …

…but I now have a paid for & current version on my current PC.

the smart solution - from an author’s perspective - is to add useful program features that need on-line access ( like look up dvd information & populate title fiields with meaningfuul names ) , & then use on-line server validation of program key to block/cancel keys that have been copied many times.

I just wonder if dvdfab5 can do that? With all the upgrade suggestions I would not be surprised if it can

My only Cracked DVD went into the Bin

Interesting thought…however, quite a number of users make it a point not to be online when backing up discs. Moreover, there are folks (one being a friend, who has been a long time cd freak as well as a member on the old Fab forum) who have dedicated pcs for bkups, that never go online.

Personally, the online verification wouldn’t bother me at all and as you say, from an author’s perspective, it makes good sense. I’d love the feature of “…look up dvd information & populate title fiields with meaningful names …”, but I’m afraid this would open up a huge “can of worms”

never had a cracked version, used dvdfab decrypter for a few months and just loved it. so i got platinum. (even though i dont need the mobile options)

this is as close as we can get so far.

After one month of hard work, the first beta of DVDFab 5 is out.

New: Created “dvdid.xml” file when copying DVD, so that Windows Media Center can retrieve cover art and movie info from internet automatically.
