Collecting file-sharers’ IP addresses ruled illegal in Sweden
It seems that APB is having problems with sane laws and are in hot water over violating 400, 000 peoples privacy. If only other contries could rule that IP address and other information are private property and not to be collected by unauthorized organizations.

A Swedish privacy authority has ruled that IP addresses are private information and therefore may not be collected by unauthorized organizations. The ruling has immediate impact on Antipiratbyrån (APB), the Swedish anti-piracy organization which recently sent warning letters to 400,000 users they suspect of illegal file sharing. According to Slyck News, each of those 400,000 parties now has the right to sue APB for violating their privacy. Predictably, APB has applied for an exemption to the ruling, and I for one will be very interested to see how it comes out.
