LG GGW-H20L burned at 4x

Sold as “Ridisc 4x BD-R” Blue and Sliver Top
MID: CMCMAG-BA2-000

This disc was burnt in December 2008 - it’s lasting pretty well after 5 years - particularly when compared with disastrous Ritek BR2s of the same vintage.

Conclusion : Massive degradation in under a year… unwatchable @ end of disc, stopped in my stand alone tonight, so figured id do a check… Every god damn of my TDK BDR 25GB discs are junk in less then a year. What a god damn waste of time… Good thing i keep HDD backup of everything, cause i don’t trust optical media.

Included scan of the latest check… dont have graph of the initial scan but stored the data in excel file. I check 5-10 discs in every pack.

Discs have been stored in a closed dvd-wallet ,Case-Logic 128disc. Never been watched before tonight, no dust, no scratch, no discoloration, no nothing. Why are they all bad ?

Experiment: Storing BD-R: binder vs jewel case
#46

Important Update, Regarding last post.

I think actually the problem is related to how i was storing the media.

I have been using a Case-Logic KSW-128T , 128 disc binder bought on Ebay.

And after reading several posts like this , basicly ppl recomend against using binders to store blurays…
http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=128389

Anyhow , i know ive been storing it horisontally all the time, so i guess the weight/pressure has slightly warped the disc, or made the material contact the dye. Anyhow, i gave it a 30second heat with my heat gun just for the fun of it, and to my big surprise, it made the disc perfectly fine and readable again! I even read it at 8x scan now… just look at the compare.
