The LiteOn, at least at 4x, can do better than the 209E. Vogelschreck is right in that point, the 209E isn´t so good as the 208D

Uhm, this looks awful. Never had such a bad burn with the BH16NS55 and this media, look some pictures above here

Did you try a burn with your LiteOn?

Welcome back!

Can you reduce the resolution? The screenis are to big for my little Notebook

Okay I will check those later, but it did not seem so bad for me, BIS max is 10, which is pretty low compared to my other burns if I remember correctly. But all in all I’m not particularly satisfied with the burn quality of this BH16NS55…
I may have burnt a few discs with my LiteOn, but not sure if I did a scan. Nowadays I only use that drive via a USB-SATA adapter but cannot burn like that… I will put it back into the case later.

Uhm, sorry.

I thought it was a scan with Opti Drive Control and the colors of your CDSpeed scan would be an awful result in ODC.

The 16NS55 is a good writer for BA5

Overall it´s not a bad BD-writer with the fitting media but dunno why LG changed the writing-strategy for MBIR06 to the worst write quality I ever saw with this media. The 16NS40 was besides the BU40N the best writer for MBIR06

Yeah, unfortunately Opti Drive Control doesn’t work with my LiteOn for Blu-Ray scanning anymore (CD and DVD is OK), it starts the scan but does it incredibly slow from the beginning. Maybe it is Windows 10 or my LiteOn is aging, but only Nero DiscSpeed works with lack of scan speed setting and Jitter scanning…

I had some nice results with my Liteon + MBIR06, but also burned some with my LG, maybe I will dig them up.

Now this doesn’t look good :upside_down_face:

Hm, the 112 should do better with BA5

Did you try the speed-switch-trick with ODC? Choose the upper speed 6x, start scan and after some seconds switch upper speed to 8x.

This is a pic of that trick explaining it (required for 2nd generation LiteOn iHBSx12 drives):

Note that it works best if you open up the speed menu while the drives spins up, the 100% will be reached before the green bar is filled completely (!), so when it shows 100% at the bottom click on the desired speed in the menu.

I’d contact Verbatim support with discs that bad. Needs to be confirmed if the quality is as bad with other drives though. But that result is not acceptable.
