CloneDVD Problems - Crashes NEW PC

Hi guys

I got a new PC for Xmas (Advent T11 - see Currys) and have been using AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

Sometimes when using CloneDVD the copying gets so far and then crashes my PC. I have to literally hard reset the PC as Task Manager etc won’t work.

My PC has an Intel P4 HT 3.4 Ghz Processor, 512MB RAM, 250GB HDD, Pioneer 108 DVD Writer etc so it’s not an dog or anything.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing this please because it’s starting to be a pain in the a**e. I tried to back-up a DVD this morning and THREE times it locked the computer, yet last night it backed up one without problem.

Sorry if I’ve missed something but I am a noob

Do you have Piggy Norton running in the background? I would shut down everything, then run AnyDVD/CloneDVD. The free end-it-all program works well.

Nah I have Avast Anti Virus and Kerio Personal Firewall. Hmm maybe Spybot S&D but that’s about it. I had Norton on another machine before I knew about the memory hungry pain in the backside it is.
