Clone DVD compared with Recode/Shrink

Olli!

Could you put on your school masters gown and teach us about Clone DVDs crunchy methods…

Q1. Do you strip out information or recode?

Q2. Other tools do an analysis phase and then an encoding phase, why does Clone DVD not need this? Does this result in quality issues? (it certainly gives a huge speed advantage)

Q3. Are you planning to change the encoding method to improve quality in the next major release? Will this change produce a great or small difference?

Q4. Does the compression levels used vary according to the content of a scene or is everything crunched at the same level?

I hope you can answer some of these quesions.

Keep up the good work

Thanks,
Fairy :iagree:

Thanks. That answers 1 and 3!

Q2 and Q4 still remain unanswered…

…anyone got any ideas.
